Goal reports that Real Madrid might make another push to sign David De Gea from Manchester United, as the Red Devils’ surprise elimination in the Champions League opened up a new opportunity for Los Blancos.
The Santiago Bernabeu outfit has long been trying to sign perhaps the best goalkeeper in the world from Manchester United, but their efforts have largely been fruitless – until now. It is assumed that De Gea might have finally had enough of the mediocre squad around him, as the Red Devils slowly conclude yet another disappointing season, and is now looking to leave the Premier League in favor of his long-term admirers Real Madrid.
Rumors of Real Madrid looking for a new goalkeeper have long been circulating in world football and Daily Mail recently suggested that the Santiago Bernabeu outfit are looking to sign either De Gea or Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois, as both goalkeepers are at an impasse in their contract extension negotiations.
However, it now seems that both De Gea and Madrid are ready to push for the transfer, which could force Manchester United to part with their best player in the summer.
