Don Balon reports that Chelsea are planning an enormous €135 million bid for Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio, who is still struggling to get regular playing time at Santiago Bernabeu despite regularly impressing when given the opportunity.
Chelsea are allegedly looking to use the rumored summer revamp at the Bernabeu to lure the young Spaniard to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen whether the Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and the club’s president Florentino Perez will be ready to release Asensio from the club.
The duo would probably rather raise funds by selling older squad member, such as Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, but Chelsea remain hopeful of signing the youngster.
Meanwhile, Metro has recently reported that Chelsea star Eden Hazard might be interested in moving to Madrid, which could open the way for a player swap between the two clubs, with Hazard moving to Spain and Asensio arriving at Stamford Bridge.
It is yet unknown whether the two clubs would even entertain the idea of a player swap, but it is hard to see either club releasing their player without an adequate replacement, which means that the deal is far from unthinkable.
