Manchester United and Tottenham have joined the chase for long-term Manchester City and Arsenal transfer target Jonny Evans, after it was revealed that the defender has a £3m buyout clause in his contract which becomes active if West Bromwich Albion get relegated, Telegraph reports.

Tottenham are looking to replace Toby Alderweireld, who has repeatedly rejected to sign a contract extension and looks set to leave in the summer, and Manchester United could reportedly sign back Evans, who improved significantly after joining West Brom from the Red Devils.

Furthermore, Jose Mourinho desperately needs a new center-back and should they fail in their pursuit of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, it is thought that they might turn to their former player.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are long-term admirers of the 30-year-old Northern Ireland international and they even tried to sign him in the winter transfer window, but eventually failed to persuade the player to join them. However, that might change now, since West Brom have practically already been relegated from the Premier League.

Manchester City are the least likely destination for Evans at the moment, since they spent £57m on Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao in a bid to solve their defensive problems, but Pep Guardiola might not be ready to let his rivals get this bargain of a deal that easily.

What do you think? Which club should Jonny Evans choose?
