Liverpool have emerged as the favorites to sign Watford’s midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, who has enjoyed a stellar season with the Hornets, after Doucoure admitted he dreamed of playing at Anfield, Express reveals.

Following his impressive performances in the league, the 25-year-old midfielder has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, but he has now issued a come and get me plea to Jurgen Klopp, who is already looking for potential replacements for Emre Can, after he repeatedly refused to sign a new contract extension with the Reds.

The German midfielder will likely join Serie A champions Juventus or Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the summer and despite the imminent arrival of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Klopp seems intent on further improving his midfield options ahead of the new season.

Therefore, the Reds might be tempted to sign Doucoure, as he would probably come relatively cheap in an overly inflated market and provide an instant reinforcement in the midfield area.

What do you think? Would Doucoure be a good signing for Liverpool?
