Desperate Liverpool Turn to Marouane Fellaini to Strengthen Midfield

Liverpool are reportedly ready to sign the former Everton and current Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini on a Bosman transfer in the summer, L’Equipe has revealed.

Having followed his manager David Moyes to Old Trafford, Fellaini enjoyed solid, if slightly underwhelming four years with the Red Devils, as his playing time became increasingly restricted with each passing season.

However, if the French outlet is to be believed, this deal is still not done, since both Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco have also expressed interest in the player due to the fact that he could come for free, as soon as his contract expires in the summer.

In the end, this deal would come as a surprise for Liverpool fans, but it’s perhaps the clearest sign of Jurgen Klopp’s desperation to reinforce his squad ahead of the next season. Furthermore, this could also mean that Klopp has ultimately failed to convince Emre Can, who could also leave on a free transfer in the summer, to extend his Liverpool contract.

What do you think? Should Liverpool sign Marouane Fellaini or should they turn their attention to other players, such as Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure?
