Manchester City look set to beat the competition from Manchester United and Liverpool to secure the signing of highly-coveted defensive midfielder Jorginho, who has allegedly requested a transfer away from Napoli.
The Brazilian-born Italian midfielder has long been linked with a summer move to Manchester United and Liverpool, but Goal reveals that the player himself decided to reject all offers in favor of joining Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
However, the 26-year-old will not come cheap, as Napoli expect at least £50 million for their player – still, City are confident they can secure a deal for Jorginho in the summer, despite the hefty price tag.
If the transfer does indeed go through, Jorginho will probably walk straight into the City starting lineup, replacing the ageing Fernandinho.
What do you think? Should City really spend £50 million on Jorginho?
