Liverpool winger Sadio Mane picked up a knock during the Premier League match against Chelsea and consequently missed several training sessions, as he battles to return to full fitness before the season ends, Liverpool Echo reveals.
Liverpool fans just can’t catch a break.
After it became apparent that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Emre Can and Joe Gomez will not be able to feature in any of the remaining matches for Liverpool this season, the Reds are facing yet another problem, as Mane apparently struggles to return to fitness in time for the crucial matches before the end of the season.
Jurgen Klopp held his last Premier League pre-match conference ahead of the Liverpool game against Brighton & Hove Albion and when asked if Mane would be fit, he replied: “We will see. It is not the same injury. It’s a fresh problem.” (via Liverpool Echo)
It appears Mane will likely miss the final Liverpool game in the Premier League this season, even though Klopp was reluctant to provide any further comments on the fresh injury concerns regarding Mane.
Nevertheless, fans remain hopeful the Senegal winger will recover in time to participate in the Champions League final against Real Madrid at the end of May.
