Jurgen Klopp is looking to add options to his attack in the summer and he has now identified the talented Bordeaux youngster Malcom as one of his prime targets, Daily Mail reveals. The 21-year-old winger has had an impressive debut season and attracted interest from various European clubs, including Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and even Atletico Madrid.
However, the Reds now seem to have jumped in front of the queue of the clubs monitoring the Brazilian’s progress at Bordeaux. Nevertheless, the move is far from agreed, as the French outfit demands no less than £40 million for Malcom, who joined them only a year ago in a £4 million deal.
It is unclear whether Liverpool would be ready to spend that much on a winger that would probably be used as a rotating squad member, due to Sadio Mane and Mo Salah earning the status of “untouchables” in the starting XI this season.
All in all, Liverpool have more urgent needs they need to address in their squad and we find this move unlikely to go through.
What do you think? Will Liverpool sign Malcom from Bordeaux?
