While the search for the new Arsenal manager continues, the club has been secretly working on the transfer of a £35 million rated Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu, Telegraph reports.
Sven Mislintat, the new Arsenal head of recruitment, arrived from Borussia Dortmund last summer and is now reportedly looking to bring some of his Bundesliga favorites to the Emirates Stadium.
Even though the 21-year-old Turkish defender attracted interest from numerous clubs due to his fantastic performances in a faltering Freiburg side, Arsenal remain in the pole position to sign the player thanks to the efforts of Mislintat.
The London club seems intent on signing Soyuncu as quickly as possible, despite the fact that they still do not have a manager, as they look to get the defender at the cut-price of £35 million, before a potential bidding war with Premier League rivals ensues and drives up the price out of their reach.
What do you think? Would this be a good move for Arsenal or should they first appoint a new manager before making any other signings?
