AC Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli says Marouane Fellaini will not renew his contract with Manchester United, as he prepares for a summer transfer away from Old Trafford, according to Goal.

Mirabelli praised the towering Belgian midfielder, adding fuel to the  rumors of his potential switch to AC Milan.

“Fellaini could be an important player, he is,” Mirabelli told Sky Sport Italia following Sunday’s 5-1 rout of Fiorentina on the final day of the Serie A season.

We know he is not going to renew with United, but it’s difficult to say that we have closed the deal.” (via Goal)

However, Jose Mourinho remains confident that Fellaini will sign a contract renewal, despite the current contract impasse with the Belgian, who demands a higher wage to reflect his recently growing importance in the Red Devils squad.

Nevertheless, in the end, the AC Milan director refused to confirm that the move is on the cards, saying: “First we have to secure our signings, then announce them.” (via Goal)

What do you think? Should Fellaini to AC Milan or stay in Manchester United?
