Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira will take over Nice in Ligue 1, after failing to secure the Arsenal job, which looks destined for former Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery.

The Frenchman has been in charge of MLS side New York City since 2016 and he is reportedly looking for a new challenge, despite failing to land the Arsenal job, for which he was shortlisted.

Therefore, he will now look to return to his homeland, where he has already held advanced talks to take over Nice, which is looking for a suitable replacement for Lucien Favre, who refused to extend his contract and joined Borussia Dortmund just days ago.

Nice see Vieira as a young, up-and-coming manager who could attract big names to the club and they hope the Frenchman will continue the good work done by Favre and lead them back into competition for European football.

However, with Mario Balotelli, the club’s top goalscorer also set to leave on a free transfer, Vieira will have his hands full trying to rebuild the Nice squad.

What do you think? Is this a good move for Patrick Vieira and Nice?
